Due to just losing the war, my family and I got out of Hsinking City and we barely escaped with our lives. We were completely broke. Our home caught fire in March during university entrance examinations. And with things the way they were, all I could do was focus on building up physical strength, and as soon as I became a teacher, I started using my weekends and evenings to study what I needed. During the 39 years until I retired, I had engaged in more than ten different types of activities.
