[About the Book]
Even though you do your best every day, your heart feels heavy. Small things shake you more than they should.
At times like these, where should we return to?
—This book quietly offers an answer.
Drawing on many years of experience as the head of Honchika Bunkyoukai of Tenrikyo, the author has lived the teachings of Tenrikyo and the words of its Foundress in everyday life. Through the events encountered along the journey of life, the author speaks about gratitude for being kept alive and the wisdom of living by helping one another.
No specialized knowledge of Tenrikyo is required. In fact, this book is especially for those who are not yet familiar with Tenrikyo.
“A heart filled with gratitude for being alive makes today a joyful day.”
“A person with a clear heart does not become angry at anything they hear or see.”
“People do not die; they set out anew—like taking off old clothes and changing into new ones.”
This book introduces the teachings of Tenrikyo—rooted in a Japanese spirituality of gratitude, mutual support, and gentle living—in words that anyone can understand.
Like breathing, it comes naturally, quietly staying close to your everyday life.
