It was 1943 when a 17-year old Yoshiaki Kitahara was deployed. Yoshiaki trained in his family's chain of barbershops when he was fifteen. He was assigned to be a medical worker due to his knowledge of "disinfection methods and general and infectious diseases." The author met Yoshiaki while getting his haircut, and share his adventures as a medic in the military.
