[About the Book]
Entrusting life itself, the flow of time, and the shifting heart to words, the poet weaves verses—an anthology of self-selected poems born from a unique perspective, where creation and dialogue are ceaselessly renewed.
About one’s hometown. About family. About youthful days. About this world.
Words spun in remembrance of the past and in contemplation of the future will stir your heart.

[Author’s Introduction]
Yumei Hasegawa
Born on June 28, 1946, in Hasaki Town, Kashima District, Ibaraki Prefecture, Hasegawa completed his elementary and junior high school education there. He later entered Chiba Technical High School, graduating from the Electrical Engineering Department in 1964.
Afterward, he attended a vocational school (Chiyoda TV Technical School, specializing in Aeronautical Electronics Department) and, in the same year, joined Kanto Toshiba Product Sales Co., Ltd., where he also married Etsuko Sato. After less than two years of service, due to the worsening of his wife’s bronchial asthma, they moved to Ishinomaki under the advice of a doctor.
In February the following year, he joined Tohoku Toshiba Electrical Materials Co., Ltd., and moved to Tagajō. After 24 years of service, he transferred to Shin Ishida Electric Materials Co., Ltd. in 1994 and, after reaching the mandatory retirement age, has remained there ever since.
He began writing poetry at the age of 18, temporarily paused, but has since written 1,300 poems to reflect on his life. After more than 40 years of considering publishing a selection of his works, he finally made the decision to publish this collection.
To this day, he has not been affiliated with any organization, nor had any master, instead tormented by, yet yearning for, a better society. He loves and observes both Japanese and international landscapes, writing and reflecting on his thoughts. He hopes this work will serve as a guide for those who come after.
He humbly hopes that, despite any shortcomings, this work will be a small way to show gratitude and repay kindness to all those who have supported him.
