[About the Book]
“Whatever I say, my child pushes back.”
“Is it really okay to just wait and watch?”
This book is for all parents who struggle with their relationship with their children during adolescence and young adulthood.
Drawing on many years of experience as a school counselor, the author presents 50 real-life Q&A cases based on actual consultations. Topics include school refusal, defiance, physical and emotional distress, uncertainty about the future, social withdrawal, and self-harm—offering careful insight into the realities faced by children in this turbulent stage of life.
What this book offers is not a set of “correct responses” or quick fixes.
Rather than judging a child’s behavior as a “problem,” it encourages parents to understand it as a signal from the child’s inner world—an expression arising in the course of growth. From there, it guides readers in finding ways to respond in the present moment.
Instead of imposing parental views, it emphasizes listening to the child’s voice, trusting them, and watching over them with patience.
And when needed, engaging in open, equal dialogue as someone with more life experience.
Through this ongoing process, a foundation is built that allows children to stand on their own.
A practical collection of case studies that offers quiet guidance for parents of children from junior high school through university age, supporting them as they navigate uncertainty and connection day by day.
