[About the Book]
— One Injection Can Become a Trauma —
Unpleasant experiences during hospitalization, unintended medical errors, frightening tests or procedures, and even the casual words or attitudes of healthcare professionals—each of these moments can leave deep scars on a child’s heart. These wounds, which may later manifest as insomnia, panic, or depression, are known as “medical trauma.”
This book is a comprehensive guide to “medical trauma,” written by a trauma care specialist who has provided support to over 16,000 individuals across 25 years. It carefully unpacks the causes and symptoms of trauma, explains what parents can do to prevent it, and shows how support can be provided after its onset, using real-life cases in a clear and accessible way.
It is a book for every parent, healthcare worker, and adult who interacts with children—an invitation to listen to the “silent pain” of children and to take the first step toward genuine healing.
