[About the Book]
On the day he left prison, he had nowhere to go and no one waiting for him.
Mitsuo Nomura, twenty-four, returns to society after serving a three-year sentence for robbery. Estranged from his family, he has neither a job nor a place to live.
Aboard a train he has boarded without deciding on a destination, he meets a potter. Without probing into Mitsuo’s past, the man offers him a job at his workshop deep in the mountains.
Through demanding work and the quiet beauty of nature, Mitsuo gradually discovers the joy of working and becomes captivated by pottery. Little by little, he begins to believe that perhaps he, too, can start his life anew.
In time, encounters with new people bring even greater changes to his life.
Love, family, a past he has kept hidden, and the loss of someone dear to him.
The past he longs to forget repeatedly resurfaces before him.
Can a person find a way to start over after losing their way in life? Even if the past cannot be erased, is it possible to build a new life?
This full-length novel portrays the power of new beginnings and human connections, weaving a story of hope, renewal, and the possibility of redemption.
